The activity of Institute of Air Navigation is organized according to the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), International Telecommunication Unit (ITU), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and aims to implement the international concept of global system of Communication, Navigation, Surveillance and Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM).
The educational process is carried out by highly qualified teaching staff, which consists of 20 professors and 35 associate professors. There are some Honored scientific and technical personalities as well as State Prize winners in the field of science and engineering working at the Institute – Sc.D. professor V. Kharchenko and Sc. D. professor V. Ignatov, Honored transport official Sc.D. professor G.Konakhovych, Honored machine builder Sc.D., senior scientific official V. Konin.
Laboratories of the institute are equipped with modern radio electronic equipment, computer hardware and software. All departments are equipped with teaching experimental equipment according to the training program.
The students of the institute obtain theoretical and practical training at flight simulators, simulators of air traffic controllers and at the laboratories which are equipped with modern communication systems, navigation and surveillance and by means of global satellite systems CNS/ATM.
The IAN students are provided with comprehensive training of English language which includes:
learning of plain English in aviation context in accordance with ICAO language proficiency requirements;
learning of English phraseology used in aeronautical communication;
learning of technical professionally oriented English.
